Jacob Marcos
Owner/Lead Baseball Instructor

Jacob Marcos grew up in Miami, where he attended and played high school baseball at Gulliver Preparatory School, before continuing on to the collegiate level.
He began his college career at Barton College, earning All-Conference and All-Region honors while hitting .362 with a .459 OBP and 2 home runs.
He then transferred to Catawba Valley Community College, where he hit .418 with a .500 OBP in 16 games during the COVID-shortened season.
Jacob finished his career at Gardner–Webb University, where he was a consistent contributor over three seasons. In 2022, he hit .296 with 30 stolen bases, earning All-Tournament honors and leading the conference in stolen bases, followed by a .309 season over 56 games started in 2023. During his time there, he also recorded two ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 plays ranked #2 and #3.

He graduated from Gardner–Webb University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Business. Since graduating, Jacob has been actively training youth and high school athletes, focusing on developing hitting mechanics, defense, base running, speed, baseball IQ, and overall player performance through structured instruction and individualized coaching.
Ljay Newsome
Former MLB Pitcher/Pitching Instructor

Ljay Newsome is a former Major League pitcher who was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 26th round of the 2015 MLB Draft. After working his way through every level of professional baseball, he made his MLB debut in 2020 and appeared in 12 Major League games with Seattle. Throughout his professional career, Ljay logged more than 500 innings and recorded over 500 strikeouts in the minor leagues, developing the knowledge, discipline, and work ethic required to compete at the highest level of the game.

As an instructor, Ljay is passionate about helping athletes maximize their potential both on and off the field. He specializes in pitching development, focusing on mechanics, command, velocity development, pitch design, and the mental side of the game. His goal is to provide players with the tools, confidence, and understanding needed to continue improving and reach their individual goals. Whether working with beginners or advanced players, Ljay brings professional experience, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for player development to every lesson.
